I’ve been so bad at blogging recently… :( So I’m just dropping by with a quick one…
Tonight would make night #5 I’m spending in the guestroom cause my room’s AC is busted :(
We went to Hua Ting for my brother’s birthday yesterday and the food was…. a fail compared to usual. Too lazy to go into specifics but it’s sad times for meeeeee cause I skipped tea to have more for dinner!
whenever tv season slows down, i’m always left frustrated and going OMG WHY ARE THERE NO SHOWS AGAIN TODAY!! boo sucks.
anywayyyy, i’ve been thinking i need some exercise! haha, i’ve been looking into various cardio stuff and i’m psyched! i want to start exercising now! but first, i need the right gear! my sportiest shoes right now are converse chucks. *fails at being fit*
SO. since i’m blogging about getting fit, if i don’t i will look more of a fail. will start looking to enroll in classes! also, maybe ‘investing’ in a wii fit? exercise from home!
see here for more ‘odd’ McDs foods! i’ve tried the cinnamon melts, the taro pie, we have the prosperity burger here but i’ve not tried it. i’ve also tried this clear veg soup in hongkong around 8 years back? :D
aaand McDs, i always thought your food was really greasy and bad (however yummy), until i spent a week in China eating local-style food. and thought that McDs and KFC outlets were the best things i’ve ever seen!
just feel like this pic, am super tired (5.45am!!) today, spent the last 7 days in china feeling super out of touch with the world, no facebook, twitter or tumblr.. yikes! and so so tired from all the walking and all the work. moving every night the last few days was a killer.
From Huffington Post in November 2010, it’s now okay for governments to kill gay people. So basically they’re saying, ‘Hi Hitler, you were wrong to kill Jews but yes you were right to kill all gay people!’
Last week, the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly voted on a special resolution addressing extrajudicial, arbitrary and summary executions. The resolution affirms the duties of member countries to protect the right to life of all people with a special emphasis on a call to investigate killings based on discriminatory grounds. The resolution highlights particular groups historically subject to executions including street children, human rights defenders, members of ethnic, religious, and linguistic minority communities, and, for the past 10 years, the resolution has included sexual orientation as a basis on which some individuals are targeted for death.
The tiny West African nation of Benin (on behalf of the UN’s African Group) proposed an amendment to strike sexual minorities from the resolution. The amendment was adopted with 79 votes in favor, 70 against, 17 abstentions and 26 absent.
And now Singapore, who well, I know aren’t supportive of gay rights at all, our law is like ‘against the law but let’s live and let live’ (fucking stupid btw) ABSTAINED. Fucking abstained. Useless piece of shit vote.
I guess it makes us slightly better than countries who voted no, (or worse because then we’re one of those too chicken shit to make their point) but that is not even a comparison because how can it be okay to kill peope discriminately for being gay!?
from pauline’s engagement party! :] haha yesss you can see the cny stuff still by alvin’s door! we were all supposed to dress in something blue.
working the registration table!
it was so hot outside at the foyerrrr :( i need AC! there’re no pics of the dinner & drinks itself cause i put my camera inside the house.
after everyone got tossed in the pool it was all a mess. lol. i totally started scratching and kicking the first time they tried to toss me in and OOPS. kicked someone’s face *flail* but the second time wasn’t that “successful” :( my new top is ruiiiined cause it got stretched from hanging all wrong :(
hiring mainland chinese immigrants in singapore to work the phonelines?
bad deal singapore.
at least for helplines for bigger companies overseas like PayPal (and many others), while they hire operators in Asia, China, India etc. The english spoken is always fairly passable and also with a slight American accent?
singapore’s taxi calling service now hires chinese immigrants who don’t speak english well, all the last consonants are dropped and it’s impossible to understand them when they’re asking me about road names. (i was at a building with 2 taxi stands on different roads). it took ages to even figure out which i was at. *flail* i wish they’d just hire locally. it’s not hard to understand the Chinese’s English conversationally, but with road names or any kind of odd lingo, it is hard. :( just like how i bet they can’t really understand our Chinese. :/
and now a fun pic to take attention away from my gripe :]
