there hasn’t been very much going on that’s been fun for me. i’m not really a fan of traveling to some bits of china, spent most of last week there, came back just in time for some booze on saturday… but then a horrible hangover on sunday. i wanted to go for PVD on monday, but i ended up with food poisoning.
on the bright side, my neighbour’s behind our house is moving out. i don’t know if you guys do believe in fengshui, but they do, and they do it kind of evilly to try to siphon luck off their neighbours? so good that we no longer have a neighbour like that :D
apparently the maids on both sides of my place (and my own!) can smell corpses at night when they’re moving out. :| animal sacrifice maybe? O.O
How shameful is it that as a country claiming to be a democracy that all our opposition parties have to reiterate to all voters that our votes are secret, while the ruling party with its stranglehold on our parliament refuses to do so.
How shameful is it that our government has let this rumour of your vote not being secret perpetuate for years? They want to win the election (at least partially) through scaring voters that if you don’t vote for my party, I will know and there will be consequences. And with how fertile our imaginations are, you can imagine the tales people have been telling.
So many Singaporeans will not admit they don’t vote PAP for fear of reprisals at work. My father has said to just keep my vote a secret as I have made no bones that I will vote opposition and will continue to do so for as long as Singaporeans do not have right to assembly nor freedom of speech, or when a group of Singaporeans are marginalised and not given their due rights.
